The Story of Scars.

A lot of people see blemishes and scratches as something to be ashamed off, and as something to hide. If you aren't perfect, if it looks like you lived a hard working life, then you aren't worthy of someone beautiful or someone who's life was easier than yours. No matter what you buy, though, you can't get rid of those little marks. You can't rid your body of any signs of wear, no matter how hard you want too. Maybe it's better that you don't. You deserve to have your life known, and to be credited for what you've overcome. You're skin tells a story that you have the power of sharing with the world, or hiding in the darkness.
So you think wearing long sleeved shirts, and covering yourself in different scar removal cream is going to make you prettier? You honestly think you won't be loved by another human being because you still have scars from those beatings you got as a child? The cuts you made on yourself as a teen? The marks on your hands from punching walls? You can't rip out the pages of the book just because you don't like what they say. I look at my arms everyday. I'm forced to see the left over marks of cuts too deep to ever go away. I'm not ashamed of them, and I don't plan on wearing a sweater to the beach to hide them. I use them as a way to remember what I used to be, a way to know where I want to go in life. Every cut has a different story of anger, broken hearts, and lost hope.
Just because you have marking on your body that hold horrible stories behind them, doesn't mean they have to haunt you forever. Use them for your benefit, to help remind you what you were and who to surround yourself with, and for others benefits, by spreading the word and reaching out to heals those who can't heal themselves. You have those scars for a reason, you survived them. Be proud to say that. You outlived your pain and your anger. Those days don't have to haunt you again.
